Premier Open Church to 30% capacity

The Premiere announced on June 9, 2020 that churches may open to 30% of their seating capacity for the purpose of worship and 10 people in small groups.  The seating capacity of Pine Grove is 180 making the maximum 60 people for worship.  The regular attendance is over 100 on a Sunday Morning.  The leadership was not able to create a plan prior to this announcement because of the uncertainty of the incremental increase for legal gatherings.  A plan is now being created in preparation for a July 5th partial re-opening

The June services will be online via youtube.  You are encouraged to gather in groups of no more than 10 people in your homes to watch the service together.  We do encourage social distancing and hand washing. We do not encourage the sharing of food.  We are all responsible and respectful people; it is up to each of us to make decisions suitable as to each one’s level of comfort and vulnerability.

The leadership is working diligently to get us all gathered.  Thank you for your patience.

Pastor Dan

I thoroughly enjoy all of the services! Thank you so much to many of you who take part and make it very special for all of us each week! I really enjoyed seeing you " at the door" and welcoming us Peter! That was wonderful! I have been reaching out and having mom ( Norma) listen to the music. Thank you so much Keera for singing and playing hymns! Mom loves the hymns and sings along! Because all of the services are recorded, we listen to more than one and today listened to 30 minutes of music! The children are doing a remarkable job with their memory verse! Keera, I love how you help your children learn by putting the verse to actions and song! Thank you all for continuing to serve and bless lives!

From Dave Bass

Thank you for your message today.  It reinforced my evening worship time in that the themes of our prayers should go beyond our own needs  allowing us to enter into a union with God regarding many thoughts

.….here I am Lord…..send me……Here I am Lord…..to worship you in Spirit and Truth

…….our proclamation of belief in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit

…….our thanksgiving for the gifts given to us this day (i.e. our daily bread)

…….proclamation of our sinfulness and our sincere request for the forgiveness of our sins

…….our prayer of thanksgiving…..recognizing the truth and the characteristics of God, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all of which bring joy, hope, salvation, truth, guidance, fellowship, and so much more.

…….our request for the physical and spiritual healing of others “may Your mighty hand of healing Lord God be upon those we know" (stating this phrase for each individual I know who have ailments.  Also a general prayer for those who are suffering from the virus, etc. who I do not know.

...….our request for the indwelling of God, Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit into the hearts of our love ones who do not presently worship God

..…..our prayer that God will bless our relatives, our friends, our neighbours, people throughout the world and this country Canada

..….prayer for the protection of God’s missionaries, pastors and laymen who preach God’s gospel

.…..our prayer that a multitude of new believers will come to worship God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit this day and that these new believers will join with God’s remnants of believers found throughout the world.

.…..proclamation of the truth that is God the Father, Jesus, God’s son and the Holy Spirit”””"bless the Lord oh my soul and all that is within me bless His holy name””””" (also bless Jesus, bless the Holy Spirit)

……asking God to bless my dear wife Shirley, to keep Shirley in His holy care, to give Shirley good health and to one day welcome Shirley into His kingdom to spend eternity with God Almighty, with Jesus Christ, and with the Holy Spirit

……asking God that His will with be done in my life, that I may walk along His path of rightness, and that I may one day enter into God’s kingdom and spend eternity with God Almighty, with Jesus Christ and with the Holy Spirit

.…..asking God to give me insight into rendering an improved spiritual prayer time

.…..The Lord’s Prayer.

Again, I thank you for your words this day.

I just spend a beautiful hour in prayer via zoom with a number of my church family! I was absolutely blessed with the time that I spend with God! What a personal conversation I had with Him! Thank you pastor Dan for leading us through Adoration, Confession,Thanksgiving and Supplication! It was a great way to pray and it gave me direction. I am so grateful for technology and for the time that we were able to spend in prayer. It was wonderful to see many beautiful, smiling faces online.I believe that there will be many more prayer nights - so I encourage all of you who are reading this to take time out and be a part of this prayer time. It would be wonderful to see more of you take part- even if you just listen and don't pray.I was richly blessed! I look forward to the next one and to continuing to build my relationship with my Heavenly Father!

What an amazing time we had last evening! Via Zoom using computers, ipads, telephones, nearly 20 members of the Church met with Pastor Dan and Ann for an hour of praise and petitions. We gathered in the presence of our awesome God and we were thankful, we were humbled, we were inspired, we lifted up the petitions of our friends and family, our province and country, our neighbours around the world. We are so blessed that we can fall to our knees in prayer rather than fall apart. We need to do more of this. We need to expand on this. God has given us the instructions and he has given us the technology to continue always to be in His presence and gathered together as the body of Christ.

And Ministry Continues

Brian Pritchard put it well when he said, "The church is not empty; the church is deployed".  Isn't that the way that Jesus meant the church to be?  Jesus used words like "go" and "sent" not come and sit.  Tremendous kingdom work is being accomplished.  People are sharing videos of themselves performing gospel music on facebook; keep it up!  We had some extra hand sanitizer that we shared with small business trades people who are still working but couldn't find any in the stores for their employees. We fed 118 people in Kingston last Sunday and we will be feeding 200 this coming Saturday and Sunday.  There is a missions meeting tonight over ZOOM.  One Connection Group meets weekly over zoom while another continues their study through email.  People are taking leadership roles in their Connection Groups that they would not have taken before covid-19.  The board has been working frantically making sure that everyone in the congregation is cared for because we want you to be loved and cared for so that you can be a witness for Christ to your friends, neighbours and family.  Our Sunday Morning youtube service is getting about 150 hits which translates to 200 - 300 people.  We haven't had attendance like that in years.  People are putting phones beside their TV's so that folks without the internet can listen to the service.  The Free Methodist Church in Canada hosted a nation-wide prayer meeting on Sunday Night through facebook live.  It was awesome.  We are working on something similar for Pine Grove - stay tuned.  We are hearing reports that the gathering restrictions may be in place for many more weeks.  When I heard this, I'll be honest, I was discouraged.  At the same time I am excited beyond the comprehensible because my "... God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us,  to Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus to all generations, forever and ever." (Ephesians 3:20-21).  My high school motto was "carpe diem" Latin for "seize the day".  Ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to seize the day for Christ - not just one day but every day.  God's got this!!

Inspiring words Pastor Dan, thank you. I just learned another new virtual skill! I hit the GIVE button at the top of the Pine Grove Webpage and following the prompts, I managed to set up an account using my credit card with Tithe-ly. Then I selected "General Fund" and caught up with my envelope donations to the church. There was the option to cover the administration fee which I selected and the amount was minimal. Far less than what it would have cost for gas to drive it to the church and I believe less that the three postage stamps if I had mailed it in each week. I went in a second time to see if I could access the account I had established easily. It too hard to figure out my way back in. Having just read in your Blog about the Rustle Street meal program, I selected the Missions tab and made a small contribution for that ministry. I am thankful for this technology. Trying to catch up on my tithe and offerings several weeks from now might have seemed onerous but keeping up as the weeks pass will make it much less so. I am so blessed to have my pensions coming uninterrupted and sufficient to meet my needs.

Oh dear! Typo in my comment about Tithe-ly... should have said, "It was not too hard to figure out my way back in." Couple of other typos but they are obvious. My apologies readers.

Wow, what a wonderful morning of sharing. I found myself smiling back at everyone as they helped to make today's service so very special. And it was so good to see the faces of so many members of the Church family. I must admit I was running late for church this morning and I forgot my Bible! Then I realized I could pause Pastor Dan. He kindly waited for me to go and get my Bible. thank you Pastor. God Bless, Heather

He certainly does have this pastor Dan! I too, will ask the Holy Spirit to show me how to seize the day for Him! I pray that he gives us insight on how we can be more loving, kind, generous, faithful, joyful stewards for Him! Thank you pastor Dan for your messages of encouragement and hope. We appreciate you!

Worshiping Together Sunday March 29, 2020

This week's video has been uploaded to Youtube.  Church starts on Sunday any time after 9 AM.  You can come to church in your pj's if you like.  Don't tell anyone but in the video I am wearing blue jeans; that's our little secret. This week's video has some extras included.  I have been playing with video creating software and have completed a first attempt.  Next week we hope to add a children's story.  Thank you for your patience Pine Grove and Friends.  In His Service, Pastor Dan

Brian and I, along with Ben and Hilda Nuttal, in the comfort of our homes and with coffee in hand, met for our virtual church service. Brian's comment was that the message was very comforting! He listened intently and found it to be a good message! The Nuttals loved the whole service! We enjoyed your message of hope pastor Dan! We appreciate the work that you put into tying all of the pieces together. The music was lovely! We had a beautiful time of worshiping together, even though we were a part!God is so good!

How Have I Been Blest?

In so many ways.  Pine Grove, your messages and comments through social media are an encouragement.  Your acts of kindness to others is inspiring.  I went to some stores today to see if the employees had hand sanitizer for themselves.  Those that did, asked me if I wanted to use theirs. What generosity!! There are trades people working in small business that don't have access to hand sanitizer.  I am happy to share with them.  The Bishop phoned today to check in on us.  I was pleased to report that Pine Grove is moving along just fine.  Keep up the good works!  Share some stories here or on facebook, about the blessings of this season.

Church Today at Pine Grove

Record Number Turn Out for Sunday Service

Ann and I were at the church building this morning at 10:30 AM.  The total attendance was 2.  The offering was zero (we tithe every other week).  There were no children, no babies, some music, a lot of praying and the quiet was deafening except for the church bell that rang 12 times.. However, the YouTube message had 117 views (5 of those were probably me testing it).  Making an assumption that half of the views were watched by more than one person and some people watched it individually instead of together, the estimated attendance this morning was 150 people.  It is hard to say, but lets go with that.

I have included a picture of the altar stairs with three sheets of paper.  On the papers are the names of all the church family (and a few more).  Know that you have been brought before the altar of God today.

Blessings, Pastor Dan
