The Rustle Street Party
2019 Marks the 3rd Annual Rustle Street Party. Rustle Free Methodist Church is an inner city church located at the corner of Russell and Patrick Streets in Kingston, Ontario. In September the Pine Grove Community Church celebrates with Rustle by throwing a huge street party. Joseph Street is blocked and tables setup for community dining. There are activities for the children such as a bouncy castle, face-painting and a sometimes a petting zoo. In the church is a friendly game of bingo while outside there is live music and a nearly endless buffet of hamburgers, hotdogs, potato salad, coleslaw, baked beans, corn on the cob, pepsi, coffee, popcorn and possibly some cotton candy while listening to live bands. The cost? A name tag with your first name. Why? Because at this party we are all on a first name basis celebrating Jesus in community.
It is a joy at Pine Grove the week leading up to the party as the preparations are made for this annual event. It takes a whole church to throw this bash and its the whole church that comes together to do it.
